If you’ve ever wondered how residents without driveways can charge their electric vehicles conveniently at home, this episode of the Housing Quality Network (HQN) Podcast is a must-listen!
The UK government has released new guidance to support local authorities in England in developing policies for cross-pavement electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. These solutions, such as Gul-e by ODS, enable residents without off-street parking to safely and conveniently charge their EVs at home by allowing charging cables to pass across or through pavements.
Public EV charging remains a significant hurdle for widespread electric vehicle adoption, especially for disabled drivers. Despite falling wholesale energy prices, the cost of using public rapid and ultra-rapid chargers is still steep.
Suffolk County Council is partnering with Gul-e to trial our innovative cross-pavement EV charging solution for households without driveways. Local households without driveways are encouraged to apply to join the trial and be among the first to benefit from Gul-e's safe, easy and convenient solution.
In the latest issue of Housing Quality Magazine from HQN, Gul-e Project Lead, Lewis Dixon, discusses how cross-pavement EV charging is set to revolutionise EV accessibility for these local authority housing communities, offering a greener, more sustainable future.
At Gul-e by ODS, we don’t just offer an electric vehicle (EV) charging solution; we are driven by a deeper mission - to make a meaningful, lasting impact in the communities we serve. Our approach goes beyond profits, putting people and public services at the heart of what we do. Every penny of profit generated by Gul-e is reinvested into local public services, ensuring that our work benefits not just a select few, but entire communities.
