Safety has always been a top priority in the design of Gul-e. Gul-e provides a permanent, secure solution with no loose or protruding elements. The cross-pavement solution sits flush with the pavement, and has no lid mechanism, thus minimising the potential for trip hazards. It can also be used with one hand, ensuring accessibility for residents, wheelchair users, and those with mobility aids.

The UK government has released new guidance to support local authorities in England in developing policies for cross-pavement electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. These solutions, such as Gul-e by ODS, enable residents without off-street parking to safely and conveniently charge their EVs at home by allowing charging cables to pass across or through pavements.

Public EV charging remains a significant hurdle for widespread electric vehicle adoption, especially for disabled drivers. Despite falling wholesale energy prices, the cost of using public rapid and ultra-rapid chargers is still steep.

Suffolk County Council is partnering with Gul-e to trial our innovative cross-pavement EV charging solution for households without driveways. Local households without driveways are encouraged to apply to join the trial and be among the first to benefit from Gul-e's safe, easy and convenient solution.
